I recently sat on the sidelines and watched a four man game of HOTT (Hordes of the Things by WRG). The scenario was the Battle of Five Armies from the book “The Hobbit”. There were Elves, Dwarves, Men, Eagles and Orcs. In this version of the battle, the side of Good prevailed on this day. Fortunately the Dragon Smaug will leave his fortune to a civilized band of Dwarves, Humans and Elves to fight over. The armies were made up of a variety of models and manufacturers. Plus there was a foam rendering of Erebor the lonely mountain that was used as the Encampment for the side of Good.
