This is an amazing diorama of the Battle of Waterloo by Andre’ Rudolph in Germany. Waterloo is an iconic battle that every wargamer thinks about playing sooner or later.  Andre’ sent me a message and some pictures of his wonderful project and  I thought it was so amazing I had to share! The diorama is 30 sq meters and there are approximately 15,000 miniature soldiers on the diorama, including 2,000 cavalry.  Andre’ hand cast all of the figures with 25mm Prince August molds and hand painted them all. The diorama depicts the center of the battle around La Haye Sainte. This was truly a labor of love and it took him 8 years to complete the diorama. Here are a few pictures:

If not, click on the “Bilder” (pictures) link for close up pics of the diorama, and the “Diorama” link for more pics and a brief description of the diorama. The “Arbeitsplatz” (work space) is fascinating and  shows how Andre’ casts the figures. The diorama has been on display at several museums in Germany.

Andre’ is currently working on a diorama of the medieval Battle of Worringen 1288. He’s planning on casting and painting 10,000 25mm medieval figures including 6,000 mounted knights and 4,000 foot soldiers! I’m looking forward to it! Thanks for sharing Andre’!
