Johnny Con 5.5 will be incorporated into Nashcon 2015 this year! The convention will be Memorial Day Weekend, May 22 – 24 in Franklin, TN.
The hotel info: Franklin Marriott Cool Springs – 700 Cool Springs Blvd. – Franklin, TN 37067 – (615)-261-6100
Here are the Johnny Con plans so far:
* If you arrive early on Thursday, I suggest visiting the Carter House, Carnton Plantation and Winstead Hill in Franklin. If you would like to drive a bit further, then Spring Hill and Stones River are great options. There are lots of dining options close in the Cool Springs area.
* We might be doing some unofficial pick-up games Thursday night and Friday morning…just check out the con and see what’s happening and feel free to join in! The convention officially kicks off at 2pm on Friday with the first gaming session from 2pm – 6pm. I would suggest getting there early in order to sign up for games. Nashcon is very casual and all you will need to do is ask the GM if you can play or there will be a sign-up sheet on the table.
* Friday 2pm to 6pm – Patrick Lebeau will be running a great looking 28mm AWI game using ADF, “The Battle of Eutaw Springs”. Cory Ring will be running a 28mm “Johnny Reb 2” Western Theater themed game during this time slot as well. This should provide plenty of JR/ADF gaming options!
* Dean West will likely be doing an ADF boot camp / tutorial on Friday night for his big “Champion Hill” game on Saturday. Swing by and talk to Dean, ask questions, and learn the basics of ADF!
* Friday night will be open gaming, but we will also be meeting in the bar and having a “John Hill Memorial” meet up and toast. We will be sharing John Hill stories, and having some excellent JR and ADF fellowship! Come hang out with some of the original “Johnny Reb” play testers and developers, and some of the ADF design team!
* Saturday morning will be Dean West’s big “John Hill Memorial” game of “Champion Hill”. Dean is a master terrain maker and gamemaster and you will definitely want to play in his epic game. This game will run for the morning and afternoon sessions on Saturday. Saturday night will be free for open gaming. There will be lots of other ACW games and other periods/rules being played at Nashcon!
* Sunday morning – Pat Lebeau will run an Eastern Front scenario from John Hill’s classic “Squad Leader” using 15mm miniatures.
* Note – Dean will also likely run “Champion Hill” on Sunday as well. There will likely be some “pick-up” games of JR and ADF happening all convention long. Talk to Cory Ring, Dean West, or Norris Darrall at the con for more info!
We still have room for more games, so if you are interested in running a game, please go to the Nashcon website and submit your game! Here is the link to the official HMGS-Midsouth Nashcon Website – link
