Shiloh – The Hornet’s Nest  –

The Battle of Shiloh, April 6, 1862. This fantastic looking terrain mat will transport you back in time to Shiloh, TN, April 6th 1862 and allow you to re-fight the intense action at the Hornet’s Nest during the battle of Shiloh! You can almost hear the roar of the cannons and the buzzing of the bullets!

This scenario represents the situation on the battlefield on April 6th, with the Union center under Generals Wallace, Hurlbut, and Prentiss being furiously assaulted by the Confederates under Gen. Albert Sidney Johnston. How will your command fare in a re-fight of “The Hornet’s Nest”?

This mat will work best with 6mm, 10mm and 15mm figures using grand-tactical rules. The mat’s ground scale is approximately 1″ = 60 to 80 yards and covers the action from Woolf Field on the Confederate left, across the Hamburg-Purdy Road, to the area around the Locust Grove Branch on the Confederate right. The Union position is centered around the Duncan Field, Peach Orchard, and Larkin Bell’s Field.
This mat is will fold up into a backback and is easily transportable to your local club or hobby shop! Just put out on the table, smooth out by hand, and add your troops and additional terrain! This mat will provide you and your friends hours of gaming excitement. Even though this mat is based on Shiloh, it is of course also usable for other periods like: FIW, AWI, 1812, WW2, etc.
